“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
— Deuteronomy 31:6

Hard times have come for many now. The pandemic, unemployment, crisis, illness, depression. What should you do if you are in trouble, in a difficult situation, or going through a dark patch and you can’t see a way out? Perhaps fear, panic or loneliness has wrapped itself around you, and you just can’t cope with the situation.

I want to assure you that Jesus sees what you are going through, all the difficulties of your situation and everything you are experiencing. He Himself said that He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is always with you at the hardest moment of your life. Once Jesus even came to His disciples during a storm on the Sea of Galilee. “Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them.” (Mar.6:48)

He came over the stormy sea in the fourth watch of the night. And the fourth watch begins at 3 a.m. — the darkest time before dawn. Nothing stopped our Saviour: not the darkness, not the frightening wind, not the raging storm. Did His disciples feel His presence? I don’t think so. They were even more frightened when they saw Him and thought it was a ghost (Mar.6:49). Jesus immediately spoke to them and reassured them. He got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased.

Jesus is always near when you need Him! Let the sea rage and the wind roar and frighten, and let there be no way out of the dark patch in your life — know this: Jesus is always near you, in every trial! When you look at Him, you are transformed; you become like Him. Like Peter, you will walk on water, above problems and difficult situations! Lift your eyes to Jesus, and you will see miracles begin to happen in your life.

Prayer
My heavenly Father, I thank You that You are always near; in any situation, even the hardest, You are with me. Even if I don’t see You or feel You, I know that You are with me. You Yourself said that You will never leave me nor forsake me, and I believe You and Your Word. Give me strength to get through this trial, fill me with strength, restore, Lord, my health, my finances and my peace of mind. Lead me out of this storm, for You, Lord, are the way out of every situation. Turn my eyes to Jesus and give my heart rest. Amen.
