Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
—John 11:25-26

In this verse Jesus opens the door a little to knowing Him. For me it was a revelation! Jesus did not tell Martha that her brother would be raised. No! He said: “I AM the RESURRECTION”, and then asked: “Do you believe this?” That is very powerful. Jesus came to us to give us faith, to turn our eyes away from our problems and direct our gaze to Him. Why, you ask? Because Jesus is the Resurrection! Jesus is the Life! Jesus is Wisdom!

When we look to Him and believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world, at that moment we receive. Since Jesus is our health, He doesn’t give us health — He is our Health! He is our wealth! He is our happiness! He is our freedom, both from addictions and from problems! He is our joy! Our Peace and Rest! Our Well-being! Our Obedience! Do you see the difference? When we say “He gives”, our thoughts may tell us: “But what if He doesn’t give… or doesn’t give to everyone?” But if He is our Health, if He is our Life, if He is the solution to our problems, then what depends on us? Jesus Himself came to Martha and Mary, He Himself gave them faith, and He Himself asked: “Do you believe?”

It is like the story of the woman who had a flow of blood for many years. He healed her, He became her health, and then He also said that her faith had made her well. That is my Jesus, the One I fell in love with! He gives everything and then even praises us for it. He did everything Himself, for us and on our behalf! He turns our gaze away from problems and solves them for us Himself. A good example: as long as Peter looked at Jesus, he walked on the water! But as soon as fear took hold of him (the storm, the wind, the waves), he began to sink — and even then Jesus held out His hand to him. Jesus is always right beside you! And don’t let the storms frighten you, because Jesus is your RESURRECTION AND LIFE!
