God Has a Plan for Your Life!
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
–John 10:9
I think each of us at some stage of life has asked the questions: “What is the meaning of my life?”, “Am I living according to God’s will?”, “What is God’s will?” These questions troubled me too, many years ago.
Once, when I was driving in the car, there were many questions in my head: “How do I go on living?”, “What now?” Problems were choking me from all sides, and it seemed there was nowhere to run. My thoughts were oppressive; the pain in my soul was becoming more real than physical pain. At yet another “What now?” I lifted up my head. We were driving on the highway, and right in front of me I saw a big billboard with only one inscription: “I have a plan!”
What was strange was that there was nothing else on that billboard, neither the name of the company being advertised nor any signature. It immediately stopped my train of thought and shocked me. I knew exactly who had sent me this message. It was my Lord!!! Suddenly I felt that I was not alone, that Jesus was with me in everything that was happening to me, that He knew about everything, and most importantly, that He had a plan! I breathed a sigh of relief, and it was a breath of fresh air after a long time. The rest of the way I drove with joy, filled with God’s love. Only Jesus can change everything in an instant. Just as He turned the water at the wedding into the best wine.
And indeed, at that time everything was resolved much more easily and calmly than I expected. Solutions came, and problems were resolved and retreated by themselves. That is how I learned to put everything into His hands and trust Him, or, to put it more simply, He put faith in me, solved all the problems and filled my whole being with joy and peace.
The Lord says about Himself: “I am the door”. He truly is our salvation. He saved us from sin and death and gave us justification and eternal life. He is our Savior! What is interesting is that in this verse He not only says that whoever enters will be saved, but also: “will go in and out and find pasture“. The Lord is not only the door to our salvation, through which we enter when we receive Him, but He is also the saving door out of our problems, through which we go out and leave the problems behind. And only when we go out and leave the problems behind do we find rest and joy.
Jesus is our door of salvation from any problems, from hard situations in our life, and we can be sure that once we go out through this door, that problem will not come back into our life, because Jesus has solved this problem, He has closed the door and stands guard. No sickness or misfortune can defeat our Savior! And when He solves a problem, He gives us rest. Like a shepherd who makes his sheep lie down in green pastures and leads them beside the still waters. [Ps.23:2] The Savior Himself said in John 10:7: “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep“. You see, not for lost sheep that have lost their way, but simply for His sheep. Jesus, our faithful Shepherd, saves unbelievers, and He also saves believers from problems, condemnation, guilt, misfortunes, sicknesses, debts, harmful habits and addictions. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” [Mat.11:28].
Whatever situation you are in, Jesus has a plan of salvation for you. He is the Way Out of any situation! Lift up your head: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” [Jer.29:11]
